I have over 30 years’ experience in the healing arts, including work in domestic violence with The Abbie Shelter & Violence Free Crisis Line, Crossroads School for children with emotional and behavioral issues and private practice. Natalie’s interests and clinical experience focus on Trauma-Informed Approaches, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in the treatment of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, acute stress disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Additional trainings include Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP); Becoming One with The Spirit of the Horse; Working with the Military: EAGALA; Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; When Horses Hear the Unspeakable: A Guide To Trauma Informed Equine Therapy: designed for equine assisted mental health therapists who work with trauma survivors both in and out of the arena; Clinical Skills Intensive – Merging Clinical Work with Equine-Assisted Practice.  Trained in Critical Incidence Stress Management and former member of the Flathead County CISM Team. Military Culture: Core Competencies for Healthcare Professionals, Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and Treating the Invisible Wounds of War (TTIWW); Horse Human Trauma Recovery- EQUUSOMA; Intensive Trauma Treatment Certification Workshop: EMDR, CBT and Somatic-Based Interventions EMDR/EA-EMDR: Equine-Assisted EMDR is an animal-assisted approach to EMDR therapy. EA-EMDR is still EMDR therapy but includes the integration of equine-assisted interactions. As well as a 500 hour post graduate Equine-Assisted Mental Health (EAMH) practitioner certificate from the University of Denver.
